Exemplary Traders rewarded by Wirral Council

Wirral Council’s Trading Standards took the opportunity last week to reward the Borough’s best traders after many of them were rated as excellent by their customers.

The Wirral Traders Association is now in its seventh year with membership growing each year helped by the Approved Contractor List.  Traders on the List are asked to provide customers with a customer satisfaction survey at the end of the job and many of those businesses have been rated as excellent with 35 businesses achieving 100% in the customer satisfaction category.

Each of the 35 companies received a certificate from Wirral’s Trading Standards to highlight their commitment to quality and care at the ceremony held at Egerton House business centre in Birkenhead on Thursday 14th January.

Attendees at the event also listened to presentations from Abdul Bari Senior Trading Standards Officer, on the latest legislation on doorstep selling and Kevin Adderley, Head of Strategic Development for Wirral Council who spoke about the business support that is available to businesses in Wirral through the Invest Wirral team and the Wirral Business Forum.

Kevin Adderley said: “I was pleased to present the certificates to a group of well deserving businesses.  Excellence in customer service is difficult to achieve and the more quality businesses we have in the Borough the better it will be for us all.  Wirral Council is working hard to support all our businesses and I hope the traders here tonight will take up opportunities such as The Wirral Apprentice, The Wirral Business Forum and our investment grants so that they can continue to do well and keep growing.”

The final shortlist for the winner of Wirral Trader of the Year was also announced with the following businesses going through to a ceremony hosted by Wirral Council Chief Executive Steve Maddox in February:

1. Colin Jones Bathrooms

2. Furber Roofing

3. The Mobile Handyman

4. Caldy Construction
