Merseyside is at the hub of the UK motorway network - linking to the M6 via the M62, M57, M58, M56 and M53 - one of the most comprehensive and least congested motorway networks in the country.  The world famous Mersey Tunnels link Wirral’s Birkenhead and Wallasey with Liverpool.

Merseytravel provides six staffed bus stations, including a recently opened facility at Grosvenor's £920m retail-led Liverpool One development in the city centre. There are more than 6,000 bus stops and shelters (including more than 1,000 SMART-style shelters) across Merseyside, as well as a nightbus network.
