Wirral is within 45 minutes travel time of two of the fastest growing airports in Europe (Manchester and Liverpool John Lennon Airports)

Liverpool John Lennon Airport is a 30 minute drive from Wirral, serving more than 70 destinations, including daily flights throughout the UK and Europe and to New York JFK. There is also a regular service to Toronto. As one of the fastest growing regional airports in Europe, the airport carried five million passengers during the 12 months to February 2007, and is set to treble in size by 2030. The airport is a major freight terminal and its cargo facilities are set to grow as part of the airport’s ambitious masterplanning.

It was voted UK Airport of the Year for 2007 by the Travel Trade Gazette, the UK's largest-circulation weekly newspaper for the travel trade.

Manchester Airport is a 45-minute car journey away.  Passengers can fly to more than 200 destinations from Manchester, with direct flights serving all of Europe's major cities and long haul routes serving North America and Asia.

Manchester is ranked among the world's largest 20 airports in terms of the number of international passengers using the Airport. It was voted Best UK Airport at the prestigious TravelWeekly Globe Awards 2006 and was judged one of the world's best airports and European Airport of the Year in recent Healey and Baker surveys.

The Airport is rapidly expanding and over £500m has been committed to develop Manchester Airport's facilities. £172 million has already been invested in a second runway. The airport’s £60m ground transport interchange offers a comfortable, high quality environment to rail and bus users and will eventually include a link through to the Metrolink tram extension.
